Knowing where you’ve been is the first step in identifying where you want to go.

At Full Circle Counseling, we understand that being a human is hard work. Figuring out who you want to be in a world that is constantly telling you who you SHOULD be is exhausting.

Whether you are redefining what matters most to you, working through painful past experiences, or trying to figure out why your path looks different from those around you (and why that might not be a bad thing)- then you’ve come to the right place.

We don’t believe in shaming the fears, worries, and questions away- we embrace them all as a part of this wonderful-and scary- journey called life.

Seeking help is the first step in your journey to a more fulfilled life.

Meet Hillary!

My clients describe me as down to earth, and validating.

I believe that we are all human, so for every struggle you share with me, I get it- because I’ve got my own! Sometimes talking in a therapy session can feel like speaking with a good friend, except for each joke or bit of sarcasm I drop, I also bring out of the box thinking and evidence-based ideas to foster healing and growth.

The human experience is deeply humbling. It can be beautiful and messy, exhilarating and terrifying. My personal belief is that we all have a story, and we are all doing the best that we can given our history and the tools we have developed along the way. Because of this, I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach to therapy. I also don’t see myself as having all the answers. I simply view myself as someone who is trained to help you uncover and harness the power that is your unique story and skill set.

While a lot of the work in therapy is done outside of the room, my approach is focused more on behavioral practices and real-life application of the things we talk about. I know a worksheet or meditation does not hold the key to success (though they can help the process along at times). Instead, I hope to use our time together to identify what’s working and what’s not- then decide what you want to change and how to make it happen!

I believe working with me is different because many of the reasons you might be seeking therapy have been some of my own experiences throughout life. If you find yourself stuck between “I think I want kids” and “I don’t want my life to change”- I feel you! My journey to parenthood was filled with doubt and questioning. Maybe you are a parent and find yourself far more angry and short-tempered than you would like- same. Rewiring automatic responses filled with anger and irritation is a valiant task that I am always working on. And don’t get me started with overthinking and fearing the worst possible outcome. Or planning so much that you lose your mind when the smallest thing goes awry. Been there. I’m not afraid to share these things with you. Because again, we are all human. But I like to believe that we can all learn from one another, and my hope is that you feel this togetherness and a sense of comradery in our sessions.
